The genus Anadenanthera, a member of the leguminosae family, has historically been used for its psychoactive effects for approximetaly 4,500 years. Anadenanthera peregrina was traditionally used in shamanism by the Indians of the Southern region of the Andes. The seeds were made into a snuff called Yopo. The seeds and seed pods contains several poisonous tryptamine alkaloids.
These seeds are toxic and are not for human consumption. They are sold for propagation purposes only.
